Forticlient VPN stopped working no macOS Monterey

Forticlient VPN was working normally on macOS Big Sur and after upgrading to Monterey it stopped working. When trying to login it keeps connecting and then the error appears: Connection Error! VPN connection terminated unexpectedly! (Error Code: -121)

What I had to do was restore the machine to factory and install a brand new downloaded VPN client from Fortinet's site to get mine working. The problem I had was when the user got a new MAC and I used the migration tool to migrate the users data to the new machine it would break the VPN client. When I did a fresh install it would work. Just not when we used the migration tool. Also make sure and allow the VPN client to give notifications as well as go into the security setting and give it access to the document folder.

Unless you're using a true VPN tunnel, such as between you and your employer, school or bank's servers, they are useless from a privacy standpoint.  Read these two articles: Public VPN's are anything but private and Former Malware Distributor Kape Technologies Now Owns ExpressVPN, CyberGhost, Private Internet Access, Zenmate, and a Collection of VPN “Review” Websites

Don't use a public VPN because you think you're protecting your privacy.
