iPhone 13 Pro loses bluetooth connection to car 2-8 minutes after starting a phone call

I am BEYOND frustrated since I got this new iPhone 13 with calls dropping in the car. I want apple to take care of this or I want a refund on this new phone!! I upgraded from the iPhone XR and I had no problems using my Bluetooth in my car to make calls. Now every single day my calls drop! I did the 15.2 upgrade. Did not solve the issue. Ugh. I am disgusted with apple as they know about the issue so many people are having and still have not fixed this!!!

They are still actively working on the fix. The provided logs that me and others gave them helped them to investigate the issues. The release notes of 14.2 did not promise fix for the bluetooth, so everyone let's pray it gets fixed in an upcoming release 14.2.1 or 14.3 *fingers crossed*

I have a 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE and never had an issue with connecting my iPhone X and never dropped a bluetooth connection. Just purchased an iPhone 13 pro and having the exact same problem as everyone else. Call disconnects 5-8 minutes later and the car thinks it is still connected. Has not done this using the iPhone as a media player.

I can no longer make calls in my 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe. Hyundai says my car and phone, Iphone 13 pro, are not compatible. My XR worked fine, but the car will not even recognize names using voice recognition with the new phone. Super frustrating and I regret purchasing the new phone.

I have a 13Pro and began having these dropped call issue on my 2017 Toyota Highlander the moment I upgraded my iPhone 7. I have had the same issues that most people describe in this blog. Dropped call within three to eight minutes of making a call yet the call remains connected and I then have to use the speaker on the phone to continue the call. After reading this entire blog I sought out the 15.2 software upgrade in the hopes i just may have fixed the problem. Downloaded it last night. I called my wife on the way into work this morning. Alas at the 4:49 minute mark the blue tooth dropped and I was forced to use the speaker on he phone. 15.2 did not solve that issue...Very frustrating!

Hi all, I have the same issue with the calls getting dropped or messed up several minutes into the call while on bluetooth. This problem also happens on any other bluetooth (airpods and other devices also have this issue so it isn't your car)

Apple support had me test 2 things.

1st - do a reset all settings - this did not fix it but did fix some other issues I didn't know I had. Apparently transferring from an iphone XR some of your settings are different on a 13 pro.

2nd - turn off my apple watch. After doing the reset all settings on my phone, I was able to reproduce my issue 3 times with the watch on. After turning the watch off, i've made 6 calls on bluetooth at 20+ minutes and haven't had the issue again. I don't know what this means yet as my iphone xr didn't have any issues with bluetooth and my watch.

Mine does the same thing only when I’m on phone calls and every time I’m on a phone call the car will drop from Bluetooth in about 3 to 5 minutes. Then the Bluetooth in my 2016 Toyota tundra will display audio player is not connected. This is pretty serious and a hazard so I hope either Apple or Toyota or maybe both of them together and get this fixed soon as I see this has been going on for months with a lot of people. On another note, when I am using Pandora it never drops at all. It only happens soon as I get on a phone call within minutes

One thing is clear, this is definitely not a problem with car Bluetooth but the iPhones themselves.

Only Apple needs to fix this.

They have tried with me to reset settings and all of that but nothing fixes the issue.

The connection between my watch and the iPhone also drops.

Well, the new IOS update didn't help me either. I had 1 successful call, the 1st one after the update (and not to forget paying the dealer $75 to upgrade my head unit in my 2017 Tundra)....subsequent calls after were dropped by Bluetooth. In fact, the last call that dropped, while I was driving, shut down my entire stereo system and it rebooted itself...just like if I had started the ignition and it went through it's start up process. I want this fixed and I want to be reimbursed by Apple for the $75 I spent to have my Toyota computer upgraded (I never had any issues until I switched from my iPhone 8+ to the 13 Pro). This is all on Apple's shoulders!

My I phone 13 pro dropped 1-2 min on blue tooth. Something to do with the phone. It’s not the car issue. Other than that the phone is ok. But Apple has to fix that. Very inconvenient in the car. I almost afraid to receive a call from my patients or the hospital.

Thanks for the advice provided here, I don't know if it has anything to do with iOS 15.2, but turning off my Apple Watch solved the issue. I had to remove and add my device a few times in the infotainment system, but I managed to get my 12 pro max connected after 3 - 4 attempts..

I’ve worked a little with Apple on this- no solution so far. But I did want to add to the thread, because I know they are reading the comments, that I have no issues using Bluetooth to listen to Spotify in my car. Doesn’t disconnect like every phone call does. Still.

I don’t have an Apple Watch and nothing else other than I phone pro 13. Still dropping blue tooth in the car. I may have to give it back to Verizon and get a regular 13 I phone. Sick and tired of this issue.

I’ve had Bluetooth calling issues for about 3 months now. When I make a regular call, after a few seconds to a few minutes, call gets garbled and I have to switch back to the phone to continue the call. Music(streaming lossless), FaceTime audio calls with zero issues. I’ve had my iPhone 11 for a little over a year now. Bought it brand new from Apple. Very annoying! This happens with my AirPods, as well as my 2022 Subaru Legacy Bluetooth connection. This points to the Bluetooth chip in the phone as the problem. Apple needs to correct this. I wiped my phone and started fresh(not restoring from backup) and still have the issue. I am on iOS 15.1 about to upgrade to 15.2 to see if this is fixed.

15.2 doesn’t solve the issue. Wiped my phone, doesn’t help either. Left my Apple Watch at home… didn’t help. Apple has worked with a bunch of people, collected a ton of log files. I don’t think they know what’s wrong.

I’ll tell you what works perfectly, an older iPhone or android.
