Regarding the answer, it's still not clear. I currently have several magsafe 2 adapters, which are no good for this new macbook. Therefore, in order to have another adapter for travel (I don't want to be climbing under my desk to unplug the included adapter to bring it whenever I go anywhere), I need to purchase another charger.
The difference between the 140w charger and the 67w one is $40 (i.e. 40% cheaper). If I can get away with purchasing that one instead (or the 96w), I would prefer it, even if it doesn't charge as fast. But if it won't work, I obviously don't want to purchase it. Some guidance as to what "charging via usb C" means would be good.
The store only lists the 140w charger as compatible with the 16" macbook pro, but I've read that not all 140w are used if you use USB C. So wouldn't that suggest a lower wattage brick can be used?
