Final Cut Pro not working

I have updated my 2019 MacBook Pro to macOS Monterey and when I try to open up Final Cut Pro, it does not load and provides me with a blank and the spinning wheel? Is this an operating software issue or is it my laptop?

Thanks

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.0

Try completely uninstalling cmm. You have to follow their instructions for doing it. It is NOT enough to drag it to the trash.

In addition, you also have Chrome - a well known enemy of video and professional applications.

Completely uninstall Chrome and its "keystone" daemons and agents - see https://chromeisbad.com for why and how.

Once you have done that, you will need to drag FCP to the trash, and download a fresh copy from the App Store.

Other than abusing those who come here trying to help, any contribution?

Tom has said time and again that there are issues with 10.6.

FWIW, I was the one who mentioned preferences and yes, deleting preferences very often clears issues.

It is not a panacea, but it is worth a try whenever the application behaves unexpectedly, and is pretty much mandatory after it crashes. Of course, if there is a bug, clearing preferences will not solve it. And yes, there are apparently several bugs in 10.6.

Where are you getting these numbers? There are over three million users of the application.

Please post an Etrecheck report from https://etrecheck.com, which will provide information about what might be going on. Give the application Full Disk Access in Privacy System Preferences, and use the "Additional text" button at the bottom of the reply box to paste the copied report.

Deleting prefs is absolutely necessary if the application has crashed or force quit. That's the first step. If that isn't done after the the application crashed, you're basically returning to the crash state, so kind of a waste of time. It's going to crash again. Force quit is basically crashing the application.

It's really slow loading waveforms, if at all, for some systems with some media.

It works ok when you start a new library.

Don't move your projects / events between libraries!

I tried to split a large library in 2 and it totally screwed up because it crashed while moving. At the end the projects I moved were lost. The folders were still there but no way to make them recoginize in one of the libraries. 3 hours wasted > Time Machine restore of 1.6 TB...

I'm leaving my main library alone until Apple cares to fix this fiasco.

Nobody can help you without any information other than it’s not working in your system.
