iPhone 13 pro and qi certified wireless charger

My iPhone 13 pro does not charge on any of my wireless chargers at home - all of which have the qi logo - but does charge on the wireless chargers in both my Audi’s. However, when charging in either car, the iPhone13 becomes so hot, it’s difficult to even hold.

However, when charging the iPhone 13 via a standard wire charger cord, it charges fine successfully and without heating up.

My other iPhones, an iPhone Xs and iPhone Xr, successfully charge using the same wireless chargers both in the home and in the Audi’s that I attempted to use with the iPhone 13 and do so without heating up the iPhone’s x’s whatsoever

Is this non-charging and/or overhearing of my iPhone with wireless chargers, a problem due to :

-a design/engineering flaw with all iPhone 13’s

-the wrong type of wireless charger,

-not enough wattage in the home wireless chargers

-too much wattage in the Audi wireless charges,

-just a problem with my particular iPhone 13 and I should exchange it for a new one?

if it’s not a design flaw with the iPhone 13 and the wireless chargers show the qi logo and they also work well with other iPhone models, and:

-If the home wireless chargers lack sufficient wattage, what plugin transformer block do I use?

-I cannot change wattage of the wireless chargers in the car, how do I handle the overheating?

thank you

Ed

Here's what's happening, particularly on 13 series phones.

When iPhone 12 was introduced, Apple brought MagSafe Charging to iPhone. This means Apple repositioned the coil in the phone to be exactly in the middle of the phone. Many older stand Qi chargers are either single or dual coil, but the coils likely don't precisely align with the coil in the 12 and 13 series phones.

iPhone 13 adds a larger camera bump on the phone. This also makes it harder to charge with standard Qi chargers because as I found out personally, the phone was not laying flat on the charging plate.

I too was having issues with standard Qi stands and finally bit the bullet and fully embraced MagSafe. Yes, I spent more money on chargers, but they are so simple and effective. And with the magnets in MagSafe and the back of the phone, impossible to not align perfectly for a 100% reliable charge every time. I've now replaced every charging stand in my home and office with MagSafe and trust me, once you go MagSafe you'll not want to go back.

You don't have to buy the Apple MagSafe chargers. Amazon sells many. Just make sure you get one which is Magnetic, outputs at least 15W and includes a USB C 20W charging brick.
