Are there refresh rate limitations?

I am connecting an ultra wide to my macbook air w/ m1 - and monitor locks me in at 50hz and it hurts my eyes lol

If the display connected with your MacBook Air is a supported display, you can set your display to dynamically adjust its refresh rate to match the frame rate of content rendered by the GPU.
