I can easily share this point of view. :-)
I just found a workaround so that Security Update 2021-007 Catalina can be installed... minus 'AppleIntelHD4000GraphicsGLDriver.bundle'. :
As already told I have a clean install of Catalina on a second Harddisk. I installed 'Security Update 2021-006 Catalina' onto this HD. This includes "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHD4000GraphicsGLDriver.bundle" Version 14.7.18
(This is the last working version of this bundle. Update 007 installs version 14.7.20, which is obviously broken)
I copied this bundle (and only this) to my primary System with 'Security Update 2021-007 Catalina' installed.
After a reboot to my primary system everything works again as expected, all WebGL-Pages can be loaded. :-)
This has the advantage that 'Security Update 2021-007 Catalina' is still installed, so there's no annoying reminder to install new updates from the system preferences. And in fact all Security Updates are installed - only with the exception of the GLDriver bundle.
I think that's currently the least possible violation of system security.

Yes - they told me my Mac Mini 'Late 2012' has state 'vintage' and is no longer supported. They closed my ticket.
Of course that was not what I expected.
Meanwhile there are two workarounds (see above in this thread) and the experimental Safari-Option is sufficient for me.
However, I am convinced that the problem is a bug they introduced with Security Update 2021-007, which will hopefully corrected by a subsequent update.
I am sure the probability of a correction will increase with the number of support tickets opened for this bug. Catalina is still supported and not all Macs with HD4000 graphics are 'vintage' or 'obsolete' currently.
So I encourage all affected people to open a ticket for this issue - it's free and doesn't hurt ;-)

I don't see anything obvious that is problematic in what you have installed -- but someone with more experience than I have might spot something.
Your hard drive is a mechanical hard drive that seems to be working poorly, and your battery is failing. However I don't see why those would cause what you have experienced. I also don't think Boom 3D audio enhancer should be interacting with Google Earth Pro so I don't think that is the issue.
I am having the same issue which trying to run remote control software used with my tech business. Searching for ANY solution right now. This has made my mac effectively, useless for my work... NOT happy right now...
Hallo, Matthias thank you for the attention. May you please advise a path to the right section for opening a ticket. And, also do you think there may be any other way to get this driver fixed in a routine way?
regards,
Denz
I will gladly take the risk, either with the help of Apple or without it, but it will be much less risk if they provide a tool to roll back the broken driver than reinstalling Catalina and not applying security updates at all.
Apple should be proud to show the general public that many Macs and Macbooks - including machines that are more than 10 years old, as is my case - work perfectly today and provide many services. It's good for the planet, it's good for the climate, it's good for all of us.
Hmm... that's not what I expected. Especially because the Intel HD4000 driver is explicitly listed in the list of corrections of Security Update 2021-007 Catalina...
Strange. OK, the search continues... ;-)
Let's Apple know what some of us think.
Why mess with old HD4000 graphics machines? Do we deserve broken graphics after almost 10 years of flawless performance? I know everything now is related to their Apple Silicon, which is great... But please don't sabotage your most loyal costumers to force us buying your newest computers... We'll buy them anyways sooner or later but we'd like to retire our old computers in working condition as backup units and not throw them away as malfunctioning or crippled units.

No, I'm very sorry - that does not work! Don't do this!!!
I solves the Problem with WebGL-Pages in Safari, but it breaks several other apps, e.g. 'Preview' :-(
Obviously it's not that simple...
I have no clue what all has to be updated after such a file change in the system area. macOS is far more advanced than FreeBSD in this respect so I seem to have missed some action.
After re-installing Update 007 all seems to be fine again.
Sorry again for my too fast posting above .

Then stay with "Security Update 2021-006 Catalina" and avoid online banking ;-)
how can you stay with the one that you already updated from? and things like online banking using a desktop computer are obsolete. much easier to do with the iphone. regular bank, paypal, venmo, cashapp, acorn, coinbase, robinhood, car insurance, id’s, etc.
thanks. im going to give them a couple weeks. i was talking to apple chat about it. sending crash reports and what not. i discussed that since there are certain websites that crash the browser because of this update, and they still technically support the Catalina software (which includes safari), then to fix safari fixes the graphics. so, it's not fixing the old mac per say, but fixing catalina safari. but, besides that, if it doesnt get fixed then that is no differnt than the planned obselesense lawsuit if it is proved that this update was knowingly pushed out and permanently broke the macs that ran like well oiled machines. so, i think they will work on it
The Macs affected by this issue are already near ten years old so a ‘planned obsolescence lawsuit’ would not get much traction. As for this being done intentionally, to a specific range of machines using the Intel graphics, that’s pure nonsense and conspiracy theory level irrationality. Why such a knee jerk assumption?
wut? irrationality. who decides how long a computer should be used. if they computer is proved to be working perfect, why not use it? your argument is no different than saying a car company can send out an update to a car after so many years because of its age. just because they think it’s old. and disable it. you think that is okay? how is it nonsense if every single one is affect by this problem. and every single one worked perfectly before they update? it could be looked at as intentional if they decided not to remedy the problem they caused. its property damage.
