Calendar crashes after update to iOS 15.1

I was having the same issue for weeks on my 11 Pro Max and now the 13 Pro Max.

I was just able to fix it by clicking on the “Calendars” after it loaded and then unselecting ‘Siri Siggested’, ‘Birthdays’, ‘Calendar’, ‘Work’ and ‘Home’ calendars. I left the exchange one selected then clicking “done”. It immediately fixed the issue but I verified by closing the app then reloading and selecting the calendars I want. The interface looks a little different but now it loads fine.

I had the same problem and resolved it as follows:

• go to the iPhone Settings
• Scroll down to "Calendar", select "Accounts"
• Now you see all your accounts (email, calendar, contacts, reminders...) that sync with the iPhone.
• Select those accounts that are either Office 365, or Microsoft Exchnage.
• You will see the list of Mail, Contact, Calendar, Reminders and Notes with the slider that allows or not the synchronization of such piece of info (e.g., Contacts or Reminders or Calendar). "Uncheck" the Calendar and confirm the delition of the data from the iPhone.
• Wait a few seconds and then "check" the Calendar again, this will start the synchronisation of that calendar with the iPhone calendar and if you go back to the Calendar application, it should work (without freezing).

Just got this fixed. An earlier post (AntonioAmadeoIV) in this thread suggested updating to 15.2, which I did, and it worked. Rather silly of me not to have taken notice earlier :)

I removed the exchange account and the issue went away. I then added the exchange account back and the issue came back (but not as severe). So it is definitely an issue with an exchange account.

I saw in an earlier post to go to calendars at bottom, open and uncheck Siri Suggestions, US holidays and birthdays. Close out and see if it helps freezing. Then open back up and check them again. It seemed to help mine. Not sure why, but worth a try until they post update to fix.

Tried removing all other calendars to no avail. Conversely I turned off the exchange account with the problem and ran only gmail and yahoo account calendars (which are not as populated mind you) and the issue went away. I believe as others previously mentioned, that this is strictly Exchange account related, particularly as it pertains to accounts with large amounts of calendar data.

Apple needs to resolve this via bet update.

The advise to select the day view is like advising to use a paper Calendar.

The weekview or stacked view is what gives value to the Calendar App.

Have you tried creating a calendar event via a web browser at iCloud.com? I was having trouble even doing that and after contacting Apple tech support and telling them about my iCloud.com/calendar trouble they took a look at it and saw there was a problem at the server level. I'd suggest trying to create events atiCloud.com and seeing if that works for you.

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 13 Pro Max on iOS 15.1.1. When I disable my exchange calendars the iCal works fine. As soon as enable those calendars the screen freezes and lags and I have to exit out of the app. Apple please provide a correction to this frustrating problem.

Have you tried using Calendar via a web browser like Safari at iCloud.com? When I had my problem entering information via iCloud also didn't work and after Apple tech-support escalated the issue found there was a problem at the server and not necessarily with the mail apps on my iPhone and Mac. Just a thought!

Got iOS15.2 offered for my iPhone6s.

Installed, Calendar issue fixed!

Bug was fixed with iOS15.2. Calendar now works fine :)

Update your OS to iOS 15.2.1. That solved issue with calendar for me.

I have the same issue but if I closed the app and reopened it, it would sometime work properly. Then it started freezing after entering 2 characters into the event.- I've found that if I enter the time and date without an event or location first it saves it as a new event. I can then go back and edit it to put in the event name and location. Not a fix, but a workaround until Apple gets off their *** and fixes the bug. I use my calendar for everything and it was infuriating to not have access to it.
