AirPlay volume issue

I chatted with apple support by also linking to this page that testifies to the problem and on Monday they call me to send the log files to apple engineering so that they can solve the problems with Airplay

I have the same issue on Homepods. Super annoying. iOS 15 completely broke airplay. From mac I can't even connect to homepods with airplay. I see them, but cannot select them.. Super ******! I thought it's a priority and will be fixed with updates. But it's been 6 months and nothing!!! Come on apple...

Totally crazy. It’s been now six months or so and there must be millions of people using their Sonos or other speakers over Airplay2 all having the same problem. I don’t understand that this issue don’t get fixed.

Same here. I’m on the latest IOS 15.5 now and still it is not fixed. Super annoying.

Also, whenever I am playing music via Airplay and add another song to the cue, the playing title lags for a bit. Also quite annoying.

I'm confused as to why Apple is not interested in fixing this. AirPlay seems a fairly central/core feature yet it happens all the time. for me it's to an AirPort mini (latest generation, airplay 2). Not intermittent and from any player (incl. Apple Music) with the horizontal volume slider.

Reflects badly on Apple s/w quality/capabilities.

Same problem for me. Weird that either physical buttons or Control Centre are both able to control volume, but the slider on homescreen or within Music app cannot.

Today I installed 15.6 but no difference. Happens on all my devices. I'm using Sonos One speakers.

Is anyone awake at Apple? This thread is lengthy!

This is insane. I have had those problems since more than a year now and today I decided to search the web to end up here.

Airplay is marketed as the solution against Bluetooth von connections were your stream might get I interrupted by incoming calls etc.. this one kills the whole immersion of music when you just wanna tilt the volume slightly and suddenly silence, loud, silience…super loud. Sad that Apple is not offering a ticket and voting system like many other big companies.

Just two weeks ago my HomePod randomly died and got super hot. Replacement would cost 95% of the original price. Apple and music is a weird story. Support seems to live somewhere else for this part of the business…

I also experience this issue where the volume slider goes to zero. But since iOS 15 I’ve also experienced skipping and about a 1 in 5 chance that a song stops playing altogether randomly and the scrubber goes to 0:00 and stays there, while in a “playing” state, though no music plays. Then if you hit pause and play the scrubber jumps back and it starts playing again.

I have the same problem using airplay with Sonos and my 11 Pro. Really helpful to see here that using buttons on the iphone is an easy fix.

Did anyone find a more complete solution?

I have the same problem even with the IOS 15.3 update. Please Apple can you solve this problem? This is a painful "software regression".

Same problem. Not only on iPhone but also on iPad. Used to work fine for years until suddenly this super annoying bug appeared.
