Installation of Monterrey cannot be completed

Hi,

I have downloaded Monterrey, but have tried to install several times and each time I get an error message that the installation cannot be loaded (or something to that effect). I am using a 2017 iMac Pro with 11.6.1. I restarted my Mac with all peripherals off and the same thing occurs.

Any advice?

Thanks.,

iMac 21.5″ 4K, macOS 11.6

If the " Install Monterey " is still present in the applications folder - suggest restarting the computer in Safe Mode Shift key immediately at restart and again will all external devices disconnected.

Safe Mode will do repair disk, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts so very slow booting - normal. Once Logged In - now run the Installer.
