An app "LogMeIn" will not close, does not appear in my app list, and simply pops up again every time.

How do I uninstall LogMeIn for Mac?

  1. On the Finder menu bar of your desktop, click Go > Applications.
  2. Double-click LogMeIn Control Panel. The LogMeIn toolkit is displayed.
  3. On the About tab, click Uninstall.
  4. Click Yes. Uninstallation of LogMeIn begins.

Follow P. Phillips' recommendation of running Find Any File. BUT do it after booting into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac . This will prevent any 3rd party apps from running allowing those you want to delete to be deletable.

User the search Name contains logmein. Any items you find in the search results window can be dragged into the Trash bin in the Dock and deleted.
