sign it to apple media services via Podcast app on Mac pop up
The previous thread never seemed to get a response from Apple or anyone else. Does anyone know how to resolve this? Signed in to apple id but there's nothing to fix...???

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, you can't sign in to the Podcasts app on your Mac.
To make sure we're on the same page, why is it requesting for you to sign in exactly? Is there an error message with more information you can provide?
Try quitting the Podcasts app, then relaunching it while holding down the Shift key until it opens completely (then release the key). This should remove the app's saved state and hopefully resolve this for you.
Keep in mind: If you're using a VPN or security software, we'd recommend to disable them and restart the device, as these may be blocking the connection.
