Mackintosh HD showing unavailable space?

hi, my macbook air 2013 used to be my daughters, but she has handed it down to me :)

i've followed apple guides to erase data on the disk, which was successful except there is some 84gb of the 121gb disk tht is allocated to 'other volumes'. i'd like this space back!

whats the best way to proceed?

It seems you're trying to erase your disk and we can help.


It sounds like there's another volume that wasn't deleted.


Try using Disk Utility to erase the volume and then enlarge the partition:

Partition a physical disk in Disk Utility on Mac
