This is strange. My brand new 16" MacBook Pro with M1 Max displays videos with transparent backgrounds as solid black. They work as expected on my intel based Macs. Anyone else noticing this?

Im working directly with a third party software dev team who are communicating with Apple about the issue, which is occurring across many other third party apps. Apple is aware that the issue is within the pro res hardware encoder/decoder on the M1 MAX machines, as the regular M1's do not experience this issue. Furthermore we have been able to generate alpha channels using multiple other codecs such as HAP/DNxHD etc.. If i hear of any updates from Apple team Ill post here.

Yep. Latest versions of Resolve and Fusion don't fix that problem either. This ist really frustration. It IS Apple's problem, I think.

I'm using Quicktime to convert a PNG sequence to a QT444 with alpha channel. Works like a charm on my intel machines, but the MBP with M1max not... :-(
