magic mouse stopped scrolling and stopped swiping

(2020 Macbook Pro)

Suddenly, my magic mouse stopped scrolling and stopped swiping. - but continues to work on the trackpad...

I verified these options are turned on in System Preferences

I have rebooted

I removed and reinstalled the Magic Mouse

I tried removing my mouse and adding my spare Magic Mouse

I tried both mice on my iMac and they work fine.

I took it a step further and did the upgrade from Big Sur to Monterey

Still no scroll or swipe

Any Ideas out there?

MacBook Pro (2020 and later)

I had the same problem when I updated to Monterey. Each time I opened my MacBook Air I had to turn off the mouse and then reconnect it. When the 12.1 version came out, it seems to be back to normal operation now. I did not see any reference to this in bug fixes, but it may have addressed the issue.

On one of my iMacs the Magic Mouse stops scrolling more and more often, after I upgraded to Mac OS 12.x (Monterey).

If I turn it off and then back on, it works normally - for about an hour.

I think the mouse is dying, but I can't figure out a way to test it.

I have gesturing and the second click features disabled - I only use the scrolling feature.

So sad. dozens of similar posts - no answers.

It's a very expensive mouse and I'm not anxious to buy another one (don't like the charging port location)

I have the same problem in that powering off / on the mouse - it will work again for a short while.

I don't think it's the mouse.

Started doing this after updating to Monterey (not immediately - but shortly after)
