Can someone confirm the difference between AppleCare+ vs. AppleCare Protection Plans.

  1. AppleCare+ is offered online only for countries that offer credit card facility?
  2. AppleCare Protection Plans are offered by Authorized Service Provers?
  3. AppleCare+ for MacBook Air M1 s $199 - How much is it for AppleCare Protection Plans?
  4. AppleCare+ must be purchased online within 60 days of purchase. When do we need to purchase AppleCare Protection Plans (before 1st year ends?)
  5. what are the differences between AppleCare+ and AppleCare Protection Plans? What's is the better plan and why?

Applecare is the first “version” and no longer available in the US - was replaced by Applecare plus a few years ago. There are still a couple of regions in the world where only Applecare is offered - you need to check with Apple on the specifics.


Major difference: the new plan includes more features.


The new plan must be purchased within 60 days either from Apple or an authorized reseller.


The original plan can be purchased within the first year where available (not in the US).

AppleCare plus is only offered to those in US or few countries with a credit card with a address in that country. So for Sri Lanka, the online system does not accept credit cards. Also, no PayPal or any other system to purchase an AppleCare plus from Sri Lanka. Only is the older AppleCare Protection Plan from a authorized service provider.

so, do you know any way to pay online and purchase the AppleCare plus from Sri Lanka?
