CarPlay stopped connecting

Carplay has stopped connecting with my Hyundai Sonata 2021. Noticed this after updating to iOS 15.1 on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Several steps have been taken: Confirmed that CarPlay was "allowed" in Screentime & Privacy Restrictions. Tried multiple Apple cables. Turned off Bluetooth and turned back on. Removed bluetooth connection for car and reconnected. Removed car from carplay and reinstalled. When connecting cable, the car reports "Reading USB" two times the reports "Phone not responding". Is there a solution out there for this issue?

Have you also reached out to the dealership to see if the stereo needs to any firmware updates?

I did follow the article referenced in my previous attempts, which did not solve the issue immediately. Interestingly enough, after about 2 hours of trying to get CarPlay to work again, I backed off and entered my question to the support community. An hour later, went back to the car and CarPlay connected and worked. Not sure why, but this is now solved.
