Dynamic Wallpaper not working in dark mode

In dark mode, when you select a custom dynamic wallpaper background, two dropdown menu overlaps each other (one to choose between Dynamic, Dark, or Light, another to choose to fill screen...)

Also, the wallpaper is not dynamic. It is a dark (still) version. This is not the case in light mode.

To get it working, one has to first set the wallpaper to a built-in dynamic wallpaper (Big Sur, Catalina...) and then right-click on the cutsom dynamic wallpaper file, select Services -> Set as Desktop Picture. It is very unintuitive, and I'm not sure if this is intended.

By the way, I'm on MacOS Monterey 12.0.1, but the same issue also happens with Big Sur.

Hello allenliao,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. From your post, it appears that dynamic wallpapers aren't working as expected and some graphical issue in System Preferences. We'll do what we can to help make sure both issues are addressed.

If you haven't already, restart your Mac and see if the same thing happens.

Dynamic Wallpapers also rely on the time and region, so make sure those are set correctly:
