Just slapped down my buck for an HBO account and can't stream. Works on Firefox? Followed all the online "experts"...still no joy. Any ideas. Cleared caches. Unblocked pop-ups. Allowed autoplay.

Okay, here's the latest: HBO says there has been a sudden (as of Oct 28 +/-) issue with their streaming on Safari on Mac. Apple is aware and says it's the result of an HBO website update. It's in the code somewhere and all parties are working on resolutions, BUT, HBO's lack of transparency on the issue is unfortunate (assuming it turns out to be their issue). My guess is they'll figure it out, and one day everything will work, with no ownership of the issue, no "sorry about that", no "here's a free month" or what have you. Sad. This why the "rush to market" should never be the driving force behind development. First, get it right; then, get it public. This works in all disciplines...
Nicolas_B2--Thank you for a response. I tried both the test user account and safe mode and the issue repeats. I log on to HBOmas, sign in, my account info is available, etc. and when I select a show to stream I get this message: "Can't Play This Title. We're having trouble playing this video. Please try again later". "Later" has been going on for nearly a week. I access the website and all service through Firefox, but not Safari. I'm an Apple guy, I like my Apple stuff to work. It usually does. Except now. Any thoughts?
Some additional observations: Streaming works on Netflix and Prime on my MBP. HBOmax also streams fine on my Roku TV and my iPhone SE2. Also, on my SE2, if it access HBO via the Safari app rather than the HBO app, it streams fine as well. Just baffled.....
I did the HBO troubleshooting prior to posting this ask. I've repeated their suggestions to no avail. All the settings I have reflect the suggestions by you and others. It may be time to call Apple/HBO or just switch to Firefox as my default browser. If I had wanted all this agg from the git-go, I'd-a bought a PC.....
