Poor Siri audio after iOS update

I’ve noticed a dramatic dip in audio quality anytime I have Siri read speech selection or read the screen. The audio quality is fine when using Siri/Hey Siri itself, as well as with anything else that requires audio (edited to add: so it actually does happen when using Siri/Hey Siri, but at random). It sounds as if Siri is underwater, or muffled.

I originally thought it was my AirPods, but this is something I can hear whether it’s coming through my AirPods Pro, wired EarPods, or the iPhone itself. It’s even observable through screen recording, which you can watch/listen to here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j7vwfndpdi2256z/SiriSpeak.mov?dl=0)

I believe it started after the iOS 15 update. Is this a known issue? Thanks!

Have you found a resolution to this. I noticed this past week Siri (i use the American Male voice) sounds like he's under water. It is really terrible.

Mine sounded good for a while following my last post but this week the voice sounds weird again but a different weird - like a slowed down record, or under water voice.

I encounter the same problem with iOS 15.2 on my iPhone 11 ProMax :(

I thought the 15.2 would fix it but it is now intermittent. Very Irritating

I updated my phone about three days ago but starting having the same issue today. Siri sounds fine unless it involves voice to text or reading text messages. Has anybody found a way to fix it?

I have had the same issue. Audio is fine when listening to music or a podcast, but when Siri reads my messages it sounds muffled and like she’s underwater. Just updated my phone to the latest update and that’s when it started happening.
