Mac OS Monterey abnormally long download time.

I have a A2338 M1 Macbook Pro.

I could not install Monterey since yesterday from Istanbul/Turkey region via recovery mode. I don't use any VPN app and I have 35Mpbs internet connection. Working from home and my internet connection is pretty stable

I left my macbook turned on since yesterday but it is still downloading for more than 12 hours. What is going on!!!!

AMEN!!!! I am in TOTAL agreement, because this **** is telling me 8 HOURS left!!! What in the entire **** is going on? It started off telling me 2 hrs, then jumps to 8hrs. What in the WORLD????? I'd just as soon stay on Big Sur and be done with it because this is a NIGHTMARE and is holding me up production wise!!

I’m not even sure if my machine will even boot up correctly anymore. It’s almost like I HAVE to go through with getting on Monterey. This is SOOOOOO inconvenient. I’m a recording artist and this has literally cost me a day of work. Thanks Apple!! For what your products cost, this shet should work much better!!

Yes, that advice was provided, however despite shutting off all other devices and hiring professional service to clean everything that could possibly be interfering with the download it still stalled. Apple needs to find a better solution.

I thought I was seeing things, when after about an hour on 2/24/2022, it said I still had 1 day remaining for the download. Incredible. NEVER had that happen before, but I do not have the patience to wait 1 daytime for just the download. Makes me wonder how long the installation would take....

Having the same problem too. New computer, tested internet speed of 135Mbps on same computer. Downloading at a rate of 600KBps!

New iMac, good internet and the download has already taken about an hour :(

FYI - it took my M1 Mac Mini on Monterey 12.0.1 - 45 minutes to download the FULL Version of Monterey 12.1 file size 12.17 GB over Wifi

Patience and more patience are required.

Well my farking M1 Mac Mini is going on my junk computer shelf until this issue is solved. Meantime, I'm using my 2009 iMac 27 for everything till Apple gets its shoot together.
