New iPhone not recognized by car via USB

iPhone immediately stopped working after last update. Have tried 3 different iPhones total in car none work now!!!!! Have obviously restarted the car multiple times since then. Have also tried restarting all iPhones. Only in our oldest car (2007) can we get the audio cable to work. In our 2012 vehicle it does not work.

Mine just says “no files found”. Not only does this 2012 Chevy Equinox LT not use Bluetooth audio. I can’t see my music. If I press ok it switches to another source. If I try to change the volume it will change the source. **** if I go in reverse. I’m not kidding. It switches to another source. It plays music but I would like to see the song name and album art on screen. It’s just with my iPhone 12 Pro. I’ve gone through 12 different cables. Unplugged fuses. Even factory reset the car settings. I’m beyond ****** ✌🏻😗

I been having the same issue. It was working fine. As soonest the new update 15.1 Downloaded it was game over. Once I plug in my USB cord to my phone it charges but it doesn’t play music.

Same issue with iPhone 11 and 2012 Honda Civic. Already tried updating to the 15.2.1 with no change. The display in the car says "No song found" when I try to play anything with any app – Podcasts, Spotify, Libby, etc.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro. I’ve tried to see jt it works in general with a friends iPhone 12 Pro Max, three iPhone 11s, and an iPhone XS and they all worked perfectly fine. It’s just my phone which isn’t working for some reason and I have absolutely no idea why.

It’s so frustrating- but something to try. Was riding in a friends 2016 Hyundai and tried it, the car gave an error asking for Pandora. Launched pandora and Spotify started playing, but stopped once I quit pandora. Unfortunately this did not work on either of our cars. My warranty is up mid February, if it’s not fixed before them I’m taking this in as defective and asking for a replacement phone, this is a deal breaker for me.

Please fix this for 2010 Lexus ES 350. I upgraded to 15.2 and it worked the hour before I updated, and then stopped working immediately after. Nothing else changed so it's definitely the iOS software. It's a shame because I'm trying to use an Apple app to listen to content, and the Apple update is stopping the Apple product from working. Can you fix this?

well the latest update did the same thing. My phone - iPhone 11 Pro- was working fine in my Ram 1500 using the usb to play music. Once the latest update (15.3.1) went into effect it quit reading my phone as a music player and only works via Bluetooth. Phone will charge with the cable. What’s very confusing to me is my son’s phone works fine…he has a 13 with the same update as mine.. I wonder if this is one of the updates that starts to slowly kill the older phones to force consumers to buy the newer phones!

I have the same issue. I upgraded phone to a 13 pro and I’m able to connect the phone to charge with the usb cable but it will not play music. I’m on 15.3.1 and my car is 2013 pathfinder. In my 2019 Infiniti I can play music via Bluetooth only not with the usb cable. Apple please fix the issue!!!

I have an iPhone 13, updated to the newest update and now my new 2021 Hyundai Sonata when CarPlay is running, it will not allow me to use the phone call portion. It forces me to use my phone instead of hands free calling. Please help!

I’m experiencing this same issue now with iOS 15.5. This hasn’t ever happened until now. Phone will charge via USB but the stereo comes up with a message stating ‘cannot connect’. This only happens with my phone specifically. I plugged in a different phone and worked fine. I don’t understand why all of a sudden I can’t ply any music from my iPhone 13 Pro

Not helpful at all Appletech… I’ve got a 15.5 update on this sorry iPhone Pro… which cannot USB connect to a solid as a rock 2013 Toyota Avalon.

I’ll be cutting off iTunes if a fix isn’t made to the shriftware. Gimme a break.

The newest iPhone OS 99.45 or whaddeva it is flat out won’t work with my 2013 Toyota as all previous EyeFones and OS versions did.

Now I’m stuck with iTunes to select music and crummy BlewToof versus the wired connection to my Toyota audio control system.

The bottom line is Apple wants to determine how you interact, buy and listen to iToons. There’s no way around their lack of care despite us spending precious cash on the newest smartfone and OS.

I’m a qualified and dissatisfied customer.

i just started having this issue with my 2016 Chevy Cruze as well, worked fine when I connected it my phone to the USB port before I had to leave for two weeks. During that time I had to restart my phone, now that I’m back it it’s not reading properly saying it’s an iPod and not an iPhone and plays my iTunes
