Apple Watch/Phone

Can you have different carriers for iPhone and Apple Watch? Would like to purchase Series 4 watch which also has cellular capabilities which would need the Telstra One Number but mobile phone is with Belong will this work or do they need to be the same carriers? Is the watch stand alone with the sim? Or not

Apple Watch LTE carrier question I have an iPhone 8+ and just got a Series 6 Watch. My cell carrier doesn't support watches or tablets, but my wife's network does. Apple says someone can add thee watch to their plan for folks that don't have an iPhone, but it doesn't say what happens if that person does have an iPhone, but not Apple Watch compatible. Do i lose any services or functions by not having it on the same network as my iPhone?

Apple Watch different carrier I am unable to add any additonal lines on my phone carrier. I really would love to get an Apple Watch. Can I just buy one from Best Buy with cellular option instead? Or does it have to be from my carrier. I hope this is not confusing. I would like to purchase an apple watch unlocked so I can use it with my iphone.

No both the watch and the phone must be on the same carrier.

Thanks Randy-12, if it is a GPS + LTE watch can you just use it via Bluetooth with any carrier?
