Buy new iPhone 13 pro max and trade in my old phone

Hiya , wonder if anyone can help wanting to buy new iPhone 13pro max and trade in my old phone, says delivery for new phone is like 4 weeks away which is fine but trade in is within 14 days? Am I being stupid and that 14 days is after I receive my new phone or does it mean I’m gonna have to send trade in phone and go with out for 2 weeks?
