Apple Music Crash when syncing cloud music library

Hi there,

i have a problem with the music app on my mac (M1 macbook pro with macOS Monterey).

A few days ago i subscripted to Apple Music and wanted to sync my new playlists across my devices (iphone+mac). However, every time i check "cloud library synchronize" in the preferences my music app crashes. When i reopen the app i see in the lower left corner that the app restarts the process of syncing but eventually crashes again. I can only access the music app if I reopen it in the save mode or with wifi turned off.

Can someone help me how to solve this issue and actually use the music app synced across my devices?

Additional Info: I updated to macOS Monterey after i first experienced this issue.

It seems you're having trouble with Apple Music and we can help.

You mention accessing Music in safe mode, do you mean you're accessing safe mode on your Mac?

Try making a new library in Music and see if the issue occurs there as well:

Hi waltter145,

It sounds like the old library has some corrupted data that's causing an issue. Since it's a synced library, just download the new library, verify everything has returned and then you can delete the old one and that should solve the issue.

no, not safe mode on the mac but just the app itself (with alt + cmd clicking on the app).

When creating a new library the error doesn't occur, but when switching back to the old library it does again.

So does that mean that i cannot use my old library anymore if i want to use the cloud sync option?
