Email app not working after IOS 15.1 update to 5th generation iPad HELP!

Same problem for me - I just installed ios 15.1 on ipad air 2019 - this morning - 2021 Nov 15 - immediately on first attempt, at opening email, mac-email opens a window but does not load anything and then just crashes closes -

Would Mac-mail not automatically already have been updated with the installation of the new ios 15.1 ???

Holy moly... can't believe I found it, guys ...

Looks like the update automatically simply switched off the email-app in icloud -

found it in :

• settings --> tap your Name-tag top-left (where it says 'Apple ID, iCloud, Media&... ) --> then tap the iCloud icon --> and there in the list make sure the email-app is turned on green - { all the apps showing in that scrolldown-list - safari, contacts, messages, etc etc... were on green... except for Email ! - turned it on... and schwuppdiwupp... all is happy again }

That did not work for me…. All emails are gone, cannot even see mailboxes…. Tried switching the iCloud setting to green but it keeps asking me to creat a new iCloud account and ignores my existing iCloud entirely.

Uh.. that was the original poster who started this thread... I jumped in later and have no idea about MSN - I have just an ipad and iMac - sorry... can you try the same 'setting icloud email to green' while the ipad is connected to your computer ? if you have a Mac ...? it might allow it to recognize your existing account when connected to the computer ??

My older iPad lost all its emails after this iOS 15.1 update and now you want me to update my new one with it. I see others have had the same problem and I don’t see any instructions on line that work to restore my emails.

1. Can you give me instructions to restore my work emails that don’t have an app before I update my new iPad.
2. Can you assure me this iOS 15.1 update is fixed before you ask me to update my new iPad as I need it for work.

I have same problem. Updated 7th generation iPad to 15.2.1 and the IOS email app no longer works. I'm accessing my email with the Gmail app. The IOS app opens, shows me all my Gmail's inbox folders by name -- but I can't see any messages. There's only a blank screen. The app keeps checking for mail and updating the number of unread messages in my inbox ... but I can't see any of them.

I've deleted the app and reinstalled it, I've deleted my Gmail account and reinstalled it, I've rebooted endlessly. But nothing works.

I still have same problem-when will Apple fix this with an update?? !- I can’t get my outlook work emails and am disgusted with your lack of solutions as a response- I think it’s part of Apple making us buy a new iPad. I did for other reasons earlier and surprise this did not happen to my 2021 iPad. I still need to use both iPads for work email though so problem angers me…give us a fix!

Just foolishly updated my mum's ios too and got exactly this problem. She is very upset as she is elderly and housebound and her emails are a lifeline for her. I have downloaded the Gmail app, but, to be honest, I don't think she will adapt as she is worried about change. Had to come back to my house but driving back up tomorrow to see if any of the fixes in this thread work. Very, very irritated because she was in tears this evening.

I've searched via Google, and there seems to be only one thread about this problem, and only a few of us on the thread. That suggests that this only affects a small minority of Apple customers -- so Apple may not make solving it much of a priority. To date, I haven't found a fix on this thread that works.

I can understand that the Gmail app can be a challenge for your mother if she has never used it before. And change is especially difficult in the midst of a pandemic! But if she's already a Gmail user, it will work for her. Hold her hand, encourage her. And meantime, file your report about this to Apple.

Happy to hear that. Your mother must be very relieved! I deleted and reinstalled the app after updating to 15.2.1, and it didn't help. I'll try again. Perhaps the update to 15.3 will have made a difference.

Same here - no difference with re-boot or anything else... but, what 'other app' did you download to access mac-mail.. how would that work ??

My email badges show emails but not updating. It is also freezing when go back from iPhone to iPad

Same issue here. Hope this can be solved in an update. Using an iPad 7th gen.
