Email app not working after IOS 15.1 update to 5th generation iPad HELP!

Hi…I updated my 5th gen iPad to IOS 15.1 and now my email app is not working. I deleted my email accounts and installed them again. The app opens, gets stuck and closes itself. I’ve tried everything I know and I cannot get it to work. I need to access my MSN account. HELP!

iPad, iPadOS 15

Holy moly... can't believe I found it, guys ...

Looks like the update automatically simply switched off the email-app in icloud -

found it in :

  • settings --> tap your Name-tag top-left (where it says 'Apple ID, iCloud, Media&... ) --> then tap the iCloud icon --> and there in the list make sure the email-app is turned on green - { all the apps showing in that scrolldown-list - safari, contacts, messages, etc etc... were on green... except for Email ! - turned it on... and schwuppdiwupp... all is happy again }
  • hope this works for everyone else, too !!

Same issue with Mail happened to my wife's iPad 8th Get last night after she went from 14.8 to 15.1. I recommend (and I did) the old iOS dope slap. Back it up (unless you have a recent one already), disable Find my iPad, and put it in Recovery Mode while connected to a Mac.

On the Mac choose restore to wipe it and reinstall iPadOS. After it has done that log back into iCloud (really easy if you also have another iOS device like a phone, you just bring the two close together). When the iPad asks if you want to restore from backup answer yes and choose the latest backup.

Give it some time and it should be back up with everything running as it should. You will have to redo Touch ID.

Hey SMWVIRGO.

We understand you're experiencing an issue with the Mail app. We see that you reviewed this article If you can’t send email on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Since it appears to be an issue with the app itself, we recommend following the steps here: If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open.

Take care.

It’s driving me nuts and my iPad will not let me uninstall the update. My email was opening and then just closing like yours. Now it opens, I see mail but I can’t do anything. Surely others are having this issue too? I had to download another app in order to access my email on my iPad since safari is painful to use and even useless with with an msn account. Ridiculous

My mail is also dead on my ipad. I tried every fix under the sun, no is still dead, you can see the mail boxes, but no mail can be seen. Don’t delete the app if you have mail saved on your device. I don’t have Gmail, and mail works in the ipad i didn’t upadte to 15.1 and on the iphone I didn’t update. I recommend you report the problem, maybe they will listen and fix ist
