Weather: My Location does not work on Cellular connection; how do I fix?

My iPhone settings: Cellular Data on; Location Services on.


Weather app settings: Location [While Using the App or Widgets]; Precise Location on; Fahrenheit on.


My Location in Weather App shows no information when I have 3 bars of Cellular connection.


When I try to "Report an Issue" I get this message: Location Services Is Off - In order to report an issue, you'll need to turn on Location Services for Weather in Settings , then the link "Go to Settings".


When I use the link "Go to Settings" it takes me to: Settings/Privacy/Location Services/Weather/Allow Location Access/While Using the App or Widgets is checked.   What can I do? - thank you!

Hey jamespeabo,


It sounds like you're having an issue with Location Services for the Weather app. We can understand wanting to look into that further. We want to help.


Since it seems to be just cellular data, check that Weather is enabled at Settings > Cellular > Scroll down to where the Weather app is listed, verify it's enabled.


If that is already enabled, test with Wi-Fi to verify it's still working also.


If it's just cellular data, you'll want to reach out to your cellular provider. Let them know your location when this happens, or if it's everywhere.

If it's both Wi-Fi and cellular, which model of iPhone and version of iOS is this happening with?

Hello WinsC1,


My iPhone model: iPhone 12 Pro Max

Software Version: 15.1


Verified: my Weather app is enabled.


Verified: when Wi-Fi is on My Location [current location] does work.


When I have 2 or more bars of Cellular connection, my list of locations will update without Wi-Fi connection; but maybe not. I will check the Weather app list of my places followed later tonight, when it is colder, and see if the temperature is updated on the list.


My issue is that My Location [current - whether it is on my list of places or not] has no data just 2 blank horizontal lines.


I have tested this issue with 3 bars of Cellular signal indicated on my phone, but My Location doesn't update but shows the 2 blank lines.


I believe this issue started with the last iOS update 15.1


*Also please note: When I try to "Report an Issue" my iPhone still says that Location Services Is Off, even though I have turned Location Services on both on the phone and specifically for the Weather app.
