I have an iPhone XR and use gmail via the Apple platform rather than the Google app directly. I have had ios15.1 update for several weeks. Last week all my historic emails disappeared from various folders when I went to access them on my phone. Same thing happened to my wife. Just wondering if anyone has any solutions. G mail help is vague and hard to contact which is ridiculous for a company of its size.
I found that by using Safari to access my gmail at:
… and then rummaging through some folders there, I was able to restore things.
Like you, I also use a gmail account via Apple’s mail app.
I can’t offer specific guidance. I rummaged through folders, eventually found one that contained lots of stuff (under “More” in the folders list), and after that, items tended to re-appear where they had been missing previously.
