If you log in to your account using safe mode or in to another user account, does the pixel rendering still appear? If you don't already have another user account set up, we suggest creating a new user account to test the issue further. These steps help identify whether the issue is isolated to something in your user settings or to a more wide-spread issue. Here are the steps:
Start up your Mac in safe mode
Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac
