Thank you very helpful, I called customer service already to get the charger replaced but this is just in time and I can cancel it. I was hoping there would be an update to solve this problem so i am very grateful you brought it to my attention.
I was having odd issues where the usb-c fast charger that came with the Apple Watch series 7 wouldn't charge at all even though the lightning bolt would show once the watch was placed on the usb-c fast charger, then the watch screen would go black (I have "always on" set to on and usually when the watch is on charge the watch screen would light up periodically with the time but not this time) and a spinning circle, like it was rebooting, would appear and the watch screen would stay black until I forced restarted the watch but the watch didn't charge at all. I called customer service and the female agent was very helpful and we decided to replace the cable which is still in progress so I will probably cancel it now because the watch OS 8.1.1 update, that lobsterghost1 was kind enough to alert me to, has done the trick. Thanks you for your response.
Apple just released WatchOS 8.1.1, which addresses some charging issues people have been having on their new Series 7 watch. Update your watch and see if the issue you describe goes away.
