The paid, VueScan Professional product supports the LiDE 100 without any Apple or Canon software. You can try VueScan before a purchase decision, and it will give you years of service without vendor dependence.
I purchased VueScan Professional in 2010 when Canon abandoned my scanner. This scanner has worked ever since, with several releases of macOS, without paying the vendor any upgrade charges. It currently works with Monterey 12.0.1 on my new MacBook Pro with the current version of VueScan.
