My laptop is suffering from Kernal_Process at 500%+ and fan at full speed after upgrading to Monterey
My laptop (mid 2015 MBPro retina15") was intermittently suffering from this problem after upgrading to Monterey and is now constantly at 500% or more with the fan at full speed. I was supposed to return the laptop for a battery recall. I'm in argentina. I tried to have my battery replaced at an authorized repair center but they were going to keep my laptop for 120 days. Then the pandemic prevented me from going to the US where I hoped to drop it off at Apple in DC. Is there anything I can do in the interim to defeat the system's down powering the CPU and up powering the fan? It will be a month before I can visit the US and the laptop works like something from the 80s.
I have very good habits with charging. The cycle count is up to 2534. While it's obviously in need of replacement it's still managing well with a fairly long life per charge.
