Grey rectangle in multitask (iPad)
This is on a iPad 8th Generation, (no option for the device), and is running on iPadOS 15.0.2. All the accessibility options are turned off.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. We understand you are seeing a grey rectangle on your iPad that you can't remove. We'd like to help.
See if the steps in Use multitasking on your iPad are able to let you identify it and close it.
Specifically these steps:
"To see the other apps that you have in Split View, touch and hold the bottom edge of the app, then drag up. The other Split View apps appear, and you can tap an app to switch to it or swipe up on it to close it."
If that doesn't fix the issue, we recommend backing up and updating your iPad to iPadOS 15.1: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
