What’s the difference between a “folder” and an album on the photos app on the iPhone? How would you use a folder as opposed to an album?

Fundamentally, similar. A folder can hold a series of albums. In my photos I have one folder per year from 1880 forward. Inside of those folders, are folders by event (Independence Day). And, inside that, images.

Say, did we celebrate Independence Day in the same way back then? If you can remember without checking your folders I’m even more impressed! Then again, I now totally understand why one would keep folders: I can’t remember what I did yesterday let alone on July 4th, 1880 😉)
Lots of staid, stoic photos early on; weddings, first communions, maybe a family portrait. Until the family got their first Brownie Camera sometime around 1912. Alas, no Independence Day pictures until the 40s (after it became a paid federal holiday but I digress).
