New Mac mini M1 trying to restore from High Sierra Time machine backup

Backup selectable, but restore options (documents, applications etc.) window is blank and continue button greyed out. Never seen this before, what could be wrong? Thanks!

The new M1 Mac Mini can not run the old High Sierra App's.

The best move is to Migrate your User Data over from the old Time Machine backup during the new Mac's initial setup.

If you did not Migrate during the initial setup, then you can still Migrate from the Time Machine backup, but it will leave you with new and old accounts.

Problem is, now you are trying to Restore files from an old Time Machine backup and I'm not sure if that will work or not.
