Messages maxes out the CPU on my 2016 MBP Touch Bar OS Monterey

Messages maxes out the CPU and becomes unresponsive and I have to force quit it. I'm on OS 12.0.1 and version 14.0 Messages.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.0

Macbook Pro 16 2020 Overheating after Big Sur, Messages using 350% of CPU Hi, got my Macbook 16inch in October. Updated to Big Sur. Now every so often the fans go crazy and it gets super hot. The apps running on it aren't unusual. Activity monitor says Messages is using 338% of CPU, even when I'm not using the app that often. Anyone else noticing their computer is overheating thanks to Big Sur update?

Messages App continuously VERY slow to start and hangs throughout the session. MacBookPro M1, when I start messages app it takes anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes to start. Then it will allow a few characters to be typed then get the "Spinning wheel" for 2-5 minutes, most times I will get the Application Hung error, send to Apple?. I always choose send. I have tried all of the remedies, short of re-installing the OS I cannot afford to take the chance of data loss, the most critical is I cannot take the time to do a fresh re-install. This just started happening in the past couple of months. No new software or hardware has been added, save Monterey OS updates. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

Tranperancyd quit suddenly in I Mac new Every morning I get the message Tranperencyd quit suddenly when I start from sleep mode. My Mac OS is venture 13.5 updated . Only when I update last week, I am getting this every day, Apple could not fix it. What to do? Please advice.

Does this still happen in Safe Mode?. That boot takes minutes.

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

If no problem see if you still have problem in subsequent normal boot.

OK, that seems to have fixed it. Can you tell me why it fixed it though??

Took a while and it broke again. CPU 70-100% Messages (Not Responding)
