Migration Assistant using Thunderbolt cables

I currently have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014).

I ordered a MacBook Pro 16 inch (2021) with the Apple M1 Pro chip.

My 2014 MBP has a Thunderbolt 2 port.

The 2021 MBP has a Thunderbolt 4 port.

Can I use these Thunderbolt ports, along with Migration Assistant, to transfer all the data from the old MBP to the new MBP?

If so, which cable would I use?

Thanks

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.6

The fastest, most reliable and most simple method is to use the Setup Assistant Method in Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant. Buying expensive cabling to migrate is a poor decision and connecting Mac to Mac can be unreliable.
