Is battery dead?

I have a MacBook Pro (2017) without Touch Bar (13inch). I plugged it in one day and it had the plug symbol on the battery. it showed the percentage but had the plug symbol.

When I unplugged it, the laptop turned off and I couldn't use it without it being plugged in.

An hour later, the battery was fine, it was fully charged and I was able to use it without it being plugged in.

I checked the battery health, and It was in good condition.

The same problem has happened again, but the laptop hasn't fixed itself this time and I have to use it whilst its plugged in. Ive done an SMC reset and it hasn't been resolved.

I bought the laptop in 2017, the battery was replaced in 2018. Is the battery fully dead?

Did Apple replace the battery or did someone else?

Have you tried a SMC reset? The System Management Controller has battery management among its many duties. Please read these instruction fully before proceeding:

The T2 processor was not fitted to 2017 MacBook Pros, so you can ship that part.
