Notes body disappearing

I use the Notes app on my iPhone and iPad a lot to jot down ideas. Recently, the app can not be trusted. It keeps deleting the body of my notes. Not on all devices, just one or more (iPhone, iPad, Mac Mini, or MacBook). Mind you, this isn’t an instance where I accidentally deleted the note, the title of all of these are still there, just that they say No Additional Text now, click in shows that there is indeed nothing by in there. Pages of text now blank.

My notes can usually be found still intact on one of my other devices, but what is going on with them getting blanked out on one device? If I update the notes on the device where they are still there, they still never show up on the device where they are blank. I usually select all and create a duplicate note to make sure what ever synchronization error has occurred here doesn’t come along and wipe out the body of the notes that are still present on the one device that does still have them. But this new entry takes forever to show up on the other devices too!

Pretty much to the point where I need to move on to a new app.

Hey there, and welcome to Apple Support Communities, cosborn.

We see that you're having some trouble with your Notes. Its sounds like the body of a note is not found on the note.

On the device which the information is missing, check the available storage. Especially if the information is still showing in the Notes app of other devices and the iCloud website.

How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

If the storage is getting to capacity, try clearing some space and test your Notes again. Keep in mind, if you delete data from an app with a "Recently Deleted" folder, then you'll need to delete from there also. As it still counts towards storage for the 30 days the data is in that folder. Once permanently deleted, you'll not be able to recover.

Also, deleted data which is synced with iCloud, with be deleted from the other devices which use that feature.

We hope this helps.
