Disk not ejected properly Monterey v 12.0.1

I have two external HDs both connected through a 27" LG UltraFine Display. My LaCie 1TB SSD is connected to the monitor without an adapter. The other external HD a traditional 1TB spinning dic is connected using a USBC to a lightning adapter.

The ejection error warning pops up for both drives simultaneously ... while I am using the machine, i.e. and does not involve a manually invoked ejection of either drive.

Considering both are connected via their own separate cable, the chances of both cables being bad (at the same moment ... on multiple occasions) is essentially nil.

The only things they have in common is the LG Display through which both connect to my MBP Pro M1.

There is essentially no negative results that I can determine other than this is annoying and is not the result of a purposeful ejection of either HD.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Some hubs, including those in devices like TVs have problems with Monterey.

The only problem ejecting a dis would have is if the Mac was writing to the disk when it was ejected. That would likely corrupt the file being written and could corrupt other files on the disk Mac does not use a delayed write so that mean the file completely written right away unlike in the past where final writing could be delayed.

I had always assumed that the compatibility of any Display unit the Apple Store matches (and sells) with an Apple laptop should be considered if and when the OS is upgraded.

I am hopeful that this is nothing more than a bug they missed (between the Monterey upgrade and the LG Display unit) and that the next OS update will capture this as a bug to correct.

Thanks for you prompt reply and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
