I seem to have figured out. When you go to power your phone down towards the top there is some prompt that says something about “being able to find your phone” if you tap that and say “no” then it appears your phone will not turn itself on….which is so not cool…anymore.

I think I have the same issue with my iPhone 13 (on OS 15.3).
Tonight at Disney Concert Hall my iPhone turned on in response to a direct message sent to me by a fellow user on a chat app. I specifically, properly turned the phone completely off prior to the beginning of Shostakovich 10.
Very annoying.
Googling around, the supposed solution is to turn off “Raise To Wake” under Settings —> Display & Brightness. I did that two weeks ago and tonight proved that it did NOT resolve the problem.
I will try upgrading the OS to 15.3.1.
If your phone is powering on by itself, there is something wrong with it. Make arrangements to have it evaluated:
I have exactly the same problem with an iPhone 12 pro and an iPhone 13 pro max. Since I have update on iOS 15.1.
I’m power off both devices but in the morning I find them power on by it’s self!
I think this is a bag of iOS 15.1.
maybe people haven’t noticed yet because they don’t power off their iPhone completely like we do.
it’s a real issue and I’m testing it for days.
Hello Bricktop-nmg,
Thanks for clarifying the issue. Just to confirm, does this still happen when using both methods to turn off the iPhone? Turn iPhone off or on
Are you leaving them plugged in to the charger?
If this doesn't help, it'd be best to contact Apple Support for further help on your iPhone.
Cheers!
Same problem here with my work phone, iphone 11. I absolutely power it fully off and it literally turns itself on sometime in the middle of the night, all by itself in the side pocket of my backpack...I'm not even touching it in the slightest. I wake up in the morning and it's already all fully turned on--by it self entirely. I turned off "raise to wake" in settings but that did not change a thing. The problem is that many think we with THIS problem are complaining of the monitor turning on but that's NOT the issue here! The phone is most certainly powered OFF fully in this scenario and then, powers on all by itself.
Hi. I bought an iPhone 13 Mini yesterday. And tonight I was just in a concert at Carnegie Hall. I had turned the phone off before the concert. The motherf#%^*+= phone turned itself on in the middle of the concert. NOT COOL.
But on the screen I saw a message that said it was turning on because of a ‘time sensitive’ meeting in Calendar.
There was a choice to turn that function off. I’ve no real idea but maybe that is why some of the forum users’ phones are turning themselves ON.
I translated the greek screenshot and if you go to Find my iPhone> toggle off Find My Network
This does appear to solve the problem.
Hello Bricktop-nmg,
Thanks for reaching out using Apple Support Communities!
We understand your iPhone is powering off unexpectedly and you've already visited the corresponding Apple Support page.
To help us better understand the situation, what exactly are you seeing on the screen when this happens?
Have you already completed all the troubleshooting on the article you linked, such as installing all updates?
Here's the link again if needed: If your iOS or iPadOS device restarts or displays the Apple logo or a spinning gear unexpectedly - Apple Support
We’ll proceed accordingly.
Cheers!
It seems that the problem is they find my iPhone even if it’s closed ability of new software. You must turn off the second choice like I did and it will not power on its self when you have power off your phone.
Because of new feature have made the iPhone to power on it self so you can find it when it’s closed.
I have tested for three days and iPhone remains power off.
Sorry about screenshot being in Greek.
It happens even if it’s not plugged into charger.
I have iPhone 12 Pro for almost a year and this is not happened before. how it’s happening for both iPhone 12 pro and iPhone 13 pro max.
I turn off my phone but the morning it’s on by it self. this happened after 15.1 update.
This EXACT same thing is happening to me and it is NOT COOL! After seeing the movie The Social Dilema I decided I wasn’t going to let these A.I. super computer algorithms drill deeper into my brain stems operating systems any longer so I have been purposely turning my phone completely off every night before I head upstairs to bed.
I recently downloaded the 15.4.1 software update.
I do the same exact same thing I do every night , I completely power my phone off but now when I come downstairs in the morning the phone is already turned on and ready to continue cortex drilling for the day.
This is bull crap!! Now Apple…aka “Mommy and Daddy” have decided we can’t even make the rational decision of when we want our phones on or not…and this proves beyond a reasonable doubt that Apple can in fact turn your phone on…and who knows what else they can turn on…without your consent.
This needs to be fixed immediately or it’s time to lawyer up.
“mommy and daddy” can you please let the common people make their own decisions on when they can have their phones on??…or is this post going to put me in timeout or even actually be seen by the other children in the matrix?
Something similar happened this morning on my daughter's iPhone 11. She had it completely powered off to take her ACT test and it turned on and started playing piano music in her bag. It wasn't any music that she had ever heard before. She said it was like an alarm, but she had no alarms set. Her phone was also switched to silent. She got kicked out of her ACT test and was not allowed to finish it. I'm not sure how that happened.
Hi, that's not what I'm saying at all, I'm saying when I power it off for work purposes it switches itself BACK ON.
The exact same thing happens with my phone too. I’ve been trying to google the reason but this is the only thing to pop up with the problem I’ve been having. But I see no one has a reason either.. so that’s great
