I seem to have figured out. When you go to power your phone down towards the top there is some prompt that says something about “being able to find your phone” if you tap that and say “no” then it appears your phone will not turn itself on….which is so not cool…anymore.
I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and turned it off last night. At 3:00 am I was awakened by the light from the phone turning on by itself. Very strange. The software is up to date.
It also freezes some times and touch screen doesn’t respond. The one year warranty was over in January so am I stuck with a lemon?
This EXACT same thing is happening to me and it is NOT COOL! After seeing the movie The Social Dilema I decided I wasn’t going to let these A.I. super computer algorithms drill deeper into my brain stems operating systems any longer so I have been purposely turning my phone completely off every night before I head upstairs to bed.
I recently downloaded the 15.4.1 software update.
I do the same exact same thing I do every night , I completely power my phone off but now when I come downstairs in the morning the phone is already turned on and ready to continue cortex drilling for the day.
This is bull crap!! Now Apple…aka “Mommy and Daddy” have decided we can’t even make the rational decision of when we want our phones on or not…and this proves beyond a reasonable doubt that Apple can in fact turn your phone on…and who knows what else they can turn on…without your consent.
This needs to be fixed immediately.
“mommy and daddy” can you please let the common people make their own decisions on when they can have their phones on??…or is this post going to put me in timeout or even actually be seen by the other children in the matrix?

Thanks but I think this is a different function insofar as the verbiage contemplates turning off "Find My."
Below the "slide to power off" slider, the message is "iPhone Findable After Power Off." Clicking that takes one to a screen that states keeping "Find My" on "helps you locate this iPhone when it it lost or stolen, even in power reserve mode or after power off."
It seems to me that has little if anything to do with whether the phone turns back on and under what circumstances.
I have an iPhone pro max 13 for work. On the weekends when I am off I power it off but every morning I find that it has somehow turned its self back on. At first I thought it was bc it was on the charger but that’s not it. I kept it off the charger and it still does it. I turned the “rise to wake” off and it still does it! It’s very frustrating!
Greek is in no way helpful.
