Show current song doesn't work properly

Hi All,

Any idea how to fix this problem?

Since upgrading to Mac OS Monterey 12.0.1 the Music app doesn't stay on the currently playing track. After clicking Command L, it jumps to the song but after a few seconds, it jumps to a random place in my library. Also, before the upgrade, the currently played song showed on the top of the screen, but now it is on the bottom of the screen. I can live with that, it's just weird. :)

Thanks for any input.

Hello Szimi,

We see you're having issues with the songs in the Music app skipping, and we'd like to help.

Does this happen with both streaming and downloaded audio? Testing with both types can help to get that isolated down. If it's only happening to downloaded audio, try removing the song and re-downloading it.

If possible, try testing while the Mac is connected to a different Wi-Fi network too.

If you're using any VPNs or other security apps, try temporarily uninstalling these, and try again.

If you're using Apple Music, it can also help to try toggling Sync Library off and back on in the Music menu > Preferences > General tab.

Cheers.
