iPad 8th Gen “Flash Disabled” message

Hello,

we are having an issue with one of our 8th Gen iPads.

when trying to use the front facing camera, a warning comes up saying the flash is disabled and needs to cool down… odd since the iPad doesn’t have an led flash? It’s disabled in the iOS camera app & all other apps that require front facing camera. Which means FaceTime etc don’t work.

running iPadOS 14.6

Thanks for the tip, but I’ve tried hard restarts, closing all apps, keeping it out of the case etc. I don’t actually think it’s too hot (ambient temperature is also ~19c)… it happens every single time you turn to the front facing camera.

was on to Apple support, next thing to try is a system reset. Will see how that goes.
