MacBook Pro 2019 motherboard failure after 1.8 years of usage

After updating latest version of OS, suddenly my MacBook Pro 2019 shows folder with question mark. After contacting Apple telephonic customer care and follows their instructions my screen goes completely blank and not responding further.

as per their advice taken to Apple authorised service centre and after a week of diagnosing they stated that Motherboard needs replacement and it won't covers under warranty.

Is Recent Apple products are not reliable.?

how it's motherboard can fail within 2 years of usage.

Just confirming that you do not have Apple Care on this machine? If so your next step may be to discuss with Apple Support directly. The normal warranty without Apple Care is 1 Year.

In my opinion, I find that having Apple Care and or Apple Care+ on my laptops, iPads and iPhones is money well spent. I've used it over the years for needed repairs and it has served me well, plus it is one less thing to worry about. Yes, I know this may not help you in this case, but something to consider in the future. Sorry to hear of your motherboard failure.

We used to purchase Apple products believing it's reliability and Apple Care+ mainly meant for any Accidental damages and not for Hardware issues.

if Hardware of a such a premium products failing at early days of its usage, it's a companies prime responsibility to look-into their products quality.

As you said, it's 100% recommended to take Apple Care+ for any recent Apple products since Apple products quality & Reliability of newly manufacturing are really doubtful now a days.🙏

Consumer products, their warranties, and their extended warranties work in a predictable way.

Warrant-able implies, but does not guarantee, High Quality:

Commercial product makers build high quality products. You can tell because the manufacturer is willing to stand by their products and repair or replace them (but only for defects in materials or workmanship) at manufacturers expense for a stated warranty period.

For Apple Macs in most countries, that period is one year. That is the total responsibility Apple or any manufacturer has to you under law. Assumptions about additional responsibility of Apple or any other commercial product-maker's products working longer than the warranty period are not accurate. The amount you paid for the product has no bearing on this. The rules are the same for a car costing US$20,000 or more.

Extended warranty:

Some manufacturers offer extended warranties, also known as service contracts. For a modest pre-payment, the manufacturer agrees to service their product for an additional period of time -- to repair or replace defects in Materials or Workmanship for an additional period. In some cases, the service contract covers additional items beyond defects in materials or workmanship. In some cases, there is a copayment required to obtain this service.

Some users will have No claims during this period. This "insurance effect" allows the manufacturer to keep the price of this service contract relatively low. You generally can not sign up later, because then only owners with problems would sign up, after they discovered an issue.

The MacBook Pro is a lightweight, portable computer that can run on batteries. Being portable, it can easily be subjected to multi-G forces daily, just by being moved about in a completely ordinary way. This is extremely stressful to electro-mechanical equipment. I would never even think about NOT purchasing the extended warranty coverage for such a portable device.

What is NOT covered is screen glass breakage, liquid spills, or catastrophic failure (hard drops or "run over by a truck"). These items are covered for up to three years (now extendable) by AppleCare PLUS (two incidents of each type with a co-pay that essentially covers the labor). if you want the extended coverage, you must sign up within 60 days and an inspection or remote diagnostic may be required.

————

If you made the decision to NOT pay for the extended warranty, you made a decision to bear the cost of repairs during the extended warranty period yourself.

Thanks for your effort in copying and sharing warranty and extended warranty clause from Apple web pages.

Similar issue i faced in MacBook Pro 2017 variant in Mid of 2019 and they replaced SSD during that time since they had issues and service program for ir.

after that incident, i sold and purchased MacBook Pro 2019 mid version and again facing same issue.

is it not a really headache for any user...?
