Bypassing password

I recently purchased a used MacBook Pro. I’m trying to boot up and it tells me that I need a password but the password I have is not working. How do I bypass the password to wipe the hardrive?

Hi,

Start up in Recovery Mode then reformat internal drive and Reinstall MacOS.
