Why is my M1 MacBook Air showing as having flash storage instead of SSD?

Why does my M1 MacBook Air show as having flash storage? Should it not have SSD instead? Is anyone else having this same problem? I have attached a screenshot of what it shows. As I said, I have a 2020 M1 MacBook Air running on MacOS Monterey 12.0.1.

From what was said about the hardware inside, essentially it's almost

the same. Except the 'flash' hasn't the larger enclosure around it, that

a similar SSD board has.

Inside the MacBook Air, this allows a better fit

of parts; with 'flash' secured to the logic board.

Some versions of SSD 'fitted-in' such a way to be more easily upgraded.

Several more were not intended to be. Inside the MB/Air, they're affixed.

My 2012 MacBook Pro 13-inch had rotational HDD; previous owner made

an upgrade, now it has a 'blade-type' SSD; while non-apple. It goes OK.

Glad to be of assistance! ☺︎
