have HomeKit running in two homes. Despite the fact that sunset is almost an hour later in the second home, my automations triggered by sunset there seem to be operating based on the time for sunset in the first home I.e. earlier than expected. Any solutions? Thanks

Home SunRise and SunSet Automation Hello everyone, I am having difficulty with Home automations that trigger using sunrise and sunset. They are not working. I saw a previous thread on this which was closed, however am unsure which setting on iOS/iPadOS can make this work. I went into Settings, Privacy, System Services, and Location Services and turned on “HomeKit” there. Hoping that this resolves sunrise/sunset not working. Best regards, Mark

HomeKit time based automations are not working. Hello. I have AppleTV working as homekit hub. I have lutron casseta smart switches and aqara sensors( door sensors and motion sensors) in my home. I have set up few automations which includes light control based on motion sensors and door sensors triggers. These automations are working fine but when I put time condition in automations they dont work at all. For example. I have garage motion sensor work as a trigger to turn of garage lights. When I set time condition to " at night" it will not work at all although I can see that motion sensor has been triggered in home app. Please advise what should I do to make time based automations to run. Thank you so much.

Sunset automation not working anymore First of all: I use an Apple TV as my HomeKit node, not a Homepod, but there is no topic "HomeKit" and this seems the most appropriate. Please let me know if I'm wrong there. 😅 Situation is as follows. I used to have a HomeKit automation that would turn on my lights about an hour before sunset. I live in South America. Traveled to Europe and since I've come back (about a month ago now) sunset automation stopped working. Some things that may be or not be relevant: I bought an Eve temperature sensor during my trip in Europe and wanted to test it out. It got connected to my home in South America. When I came back, the time was off in Eve. I had to remove it from there and re-add it to fix. Maybe this somehow threw it off, I don't know. There are multiple iPhones and Macs in the house. They're all new (iPhone 13s) and the Macs all run Ventura, minus one old Mini. So the operating systems are more "modern" than when I didn't have this problem. I've checked access to location services on all iPhones and Macs and they're all set to "While using". I also have a Homebridge install running for access to Ring cameras and Sonos, not sure if that can do anything. Timer automation works fine; things turn off at the locally configured time, so it understands my timezone. Any ideas?

It sounds like your scenes are being triggered at the same time, but they're in different time zones. Is that right? We understand how important this is to you and we are here to help. Starting with the resource Set up your HomePod, HomePod mini, Apple TV, or iPad as a home hub was a great idea.

As a test, if you set each automation to run at an exact time rather than Sunset, what happens? Create scenes and automations with the Home app

Regarding the automation that runs at the expected time, is that the house you are in?

Also, what device are you using as a home hub? Is it fully updated?
