I have the iPhone 13 pro. There is no scene detection setting to turn off

I have the iPhone 13 pro. There is no scene detection setting to turn off, and this may be why when I tap the focus button, the phone says, no, I want to focus here instead. Is there any controls on this new phone for focus? In particular I have trouble getting the camera to stay focused with a macro use of the wide angle lens.

Take and edit photos with your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Good luck.
